First of the Month Working Blog! Favorite Hillary Posts ~ Shareable and Sometimes Actionable ...

FYI: This is a working Blog! Democrats always need to work at messaging Democratic Truths up and down the ticket but it is my current analysis that nobody needs truth messaging more than my candidate for President -- Hillary Clinton – who is not being honestly described by many, including but not limited to, her non-Democratic opposition and a variety of talking heads, as the long-time progressive Democrat she is making her the focus of my recurring First of the Month Favorite and/or Shareable Posts Blog!

As we move closer to the 2016 Election for the President of the United States, please use the direct links provided and share and/or take action when and where appropriate in support of Hillary!

Take the Best; Leave the Rest. But push the truth!

For your own information, my personal habit is to share directly from Hillary's social media platforms and other like-minded sites, as well, and to save favorites on my Desktop for later sharing. I create a Hillary memes folder and drop them into the folder and when I have a block of time I share them directly from that folder to my preferred social medium platforms.

Today, I am providing direct Twitter links of some of my favorite posts for sharing with friends and two action steps to be taken and shared, as well!

(* To share on various platforms of your own choosing, you’ll have to do the annoying thing and download, save, write a comment and re-post...)

TY!

^ It is ludicrous to declare this woman unqualified. It is dangerous to not understand domestic and foreign policies are no longer separate agenda items and a "smart power" strategy is critical to our continued success as a nation

Media Black Out of Unspeakable Loss, Wounded Bodies, and Hearts Torn Out is Indefensible!

I'm not going to talk a lot.

I get the issue of common sense gun safety is multi-faceted.

I get the GOP is nullifying President Obama's presidency and by extension the 10's of millions of people who elected him.

I get Hillary bias in main stream media precludes their coverage of her presidential level commitment to the issue.

What I don't get is main stream media's choice to be complicit in blocking the issue as a critical issue in the lives of so many!

Rightly or wrongly, the losses at Sandy Hook Elementary School shook people more than previous losses.

Rightly or wrongly, The “Mothers of the Movement” reminded people how often such losses take place.

Rightly or wrongly, Hillary Clinton is reminding people how apathetic we are to it.

And, she is doing something about it!

People are dying; survivors are wounded, physically, mentally, spiritually; and our system of government can do something about it.

On paper we care but our election outcomes do not reflect it.

It is time to insist main stream media stop the blackout of the the victims of gun violence  and begin the conversation in the context of the 2016 General Election because the personal is political!

I have selected, for sharing, a handful of pieces that have impacted me the most, both via video and print.

If you've missed them, I encourage you to take the time to read and or to watch/listen to them. Once you have, I further encourage you to share them, and similar stories that may have impacted you, with your favorite main stream media person and to ask them why we are not talking about unspeakable loss, wounded bodies, hearts torn out and strategies to limit the damage being done every single day.

(Most media types can be easily searched and reached via a variety of search engines and platforms.)

You can share my media blackout meme on Twitter here, if you'd like to!

Last week, Hillary went to Hartford, Connecticut where she attended a conversation on gun violence held at the Wilson-Gray YMCA. The discussion included families that have lost loved ones as a direct result of shootings or gun violence. During the 90-minute conversation, a number of the family members shared their stories and the group took questions from the audience,

You can see the 90-minute video here

(Video, courtesy of U.S. Policy 2016!)

In early March, Hillary's campaign published “Mothers who lost children to gun violence & police actions stand with Hillary in a powerful new ( 3-minute) video

… Last year, Hillary Clinton met with mothers who have lost their children to gun violence, police, and racially charged incidents.

After that meeting, Maria Hamilton, mother of Dontre Hamilton; and Gwen Carr, mother of Eric Garner, talked about how it felt to be in that room. … “

You can see the 3-minute video here

In late February, “These moms are turning grief into action—and reclaiming the narrative around their children’s deaths”

The mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, Dontre Hamilton, and Jordan Davis share what it’s like fight for justice alongside one another. ... “

You can read the article here

Also, in late February, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and Capt. Mark Kelly shared a panel with Moms who lost their children to gun violence and police actions at the "Breaking Down Barriers Forum" at the Central Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C.

“We endorsed her because she endorsed us.”

You can read the story and you can watch the full video here

And, last but not least, Hillary recently released:

“Daughter Of Slain Sandy Hook Principal Supports Clinton In New Ad

“The daughter of the principal killed by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School is supporting Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton in a new television ad that began airing Wednesday.

"No one is fighting harder to reform our gun laws than Hillary," Erica Smegielski, the daughter of Dawn Hochsprung, says in. "She is the only candidate who has what it takes to take on the gun lobby. She reminds me of my mother: she isn't scared of anything." … “

You can read the story and you can see the ad here

Enough said...

Talking Back to Main Stream Media ? Keep @ it! They Can Read & They Can Hear & Everyone Can Change...

It is only one quote from one of our Founding Fathers but I think it makes clear freedom of the press was recognized as critical to the success of our government as they designed, ratified and implemented it and, frankly, I am of the mind that inclusion in the First Amendment of the United States Constitution calls for more than the electorate is getting from most of main stream media.

In the context of this election cycle, I see more and more people, particularly on Twitter, sharing their disappointment with the performance of a media they depend on for accurate information and that is great and I just want to take a minute to say: Keep @ it! because, as someone once told me a long time ago, once it is said and heard it is can not be unheard and the subconscious will do its job -- with most people.

It has been my experience that once a thought is dropped into my subconscious mind it tends to float to my conscious mind in a timely manner and the choice is mine -- to pay attention or not.

Impacting minds is slow, I'll grant you that, which is why it is great that people are employing a variety of tactics to make the point that a main stream media that is blatantly bias, a main stream media that grossly misinforms and a main stream media that merely serves as free advertising for politicians is not acceptable. (Real time critiques on programming, changing the channel on the worst segments of programming and literally boycotting entire shows and/or stations are some of the examples I see.)

Unless the talking heads want to stand up and share that they've heard us and that they are trying to improve their performances ~ because it is the right thing to do ~ it is nearly impossible to document results but if you are talking back your words are in their subconscious and you will hear them, making it possible for you to discern change when it happens no matter  how subtle it might be.

During the months of January and February, I jotted down some notes on some of the small changes I've see in main stream media, directly connected to what I've said to them, that may find of interest:

New Day's Alisyn Camerota, Chris Cuomo, Michaela Pereira

One of my favorite mantras that I Tweet to talking heads on a regular basis is that the habit of most programming is to misinform the electorate and then poll the electorate and then feed the results back to the electorate as "news" (the implication, of course, being that, that is not reporting), so I was thrilled to hear discussion on New Day recently that explained to the viewer that polls are not always the best indicator of what is really happening and how, directly related to the poll being reported on, 40 to 50% of the population was undecided.

Hardball's Chris Matthews

Following many calls by many people for main stream media to ask Bernie Sanders how he would pay for promises made during the nomination process, Mathews took that on in early February and he has continued to press Sanders on it.

MTP Daily's Chuck Todd

Just two days ago, after months of calls for main stream media to address the lack of congressional support for Bernie Sanders, Todd actually ask a Senator the question. (The response, BTW, was that, although he likes Bernie, he does not think he can be effective.)

No movement has or will come because of one person holding main stream media accountable on a part-time basis and I'm sure those of you who are out there working it have anecdotal stories of your own to tell, as well as direct responses from them -- all of which demonstrates that they hear us.

As noted, keep @ it! And if you are not doing it yet -- pick one favorite talking head and inform him or her that you notice when they are not doing the job they need to do if we are to have an informed electorate. (In my experience, I will say, most of them seem to favor Twitter!)

A Few Favorite Shareables to Share re messaging @SenMajLdr #DoYourJob !

^ You can share this on Twitter here

FYI: This is a working Blog! because, it seems to me we can not just sit by and be silent while the GOP continues to nullify a duly elected President of the United States of America (and our votes!) and is now treating him as if he is 3/4's of a person via denying him his constitutional right to nominate and Supreme Court Justice, effectively ending his 4-year term after 3 years.

Following are some favorite memes to share directly on Twitter! Please feel free to download them and re post them to any social media platform you favor...

Stopping to Reflect & Re-energize so I Don't Slip & Fall into the Mud ~ Which is Much Easier to do Than to be a Gentle Woman & or Man! Come with me if You'd Like...

I am so ticked off at the ignorance and the rudeness being exposed in this Democratic 2016 Presidential Nomination that today I have to Stop, Reflect & Re-energize so I don't slip and fall into the Mud ~ which, BTW ~ is much easier to do than to be a Gentle Woman and or a Man! Come with me if you'd Like...

I love being aware that our nation was actually founded more on the way of the Native American than on the way of the "white man." I love being aware of that because it gives me a place to go to re-tap into the temperament I aspire to, which is more represented by my choice for the nomination (Hillary Clinton), when I need to get a grip on my own frustration and not become what I am fighting – Crude, Rude, Ignorant, Civics Illiterate anti-U.S. Government citizens, which is more represented by the opposition to my choice for the nomination (Bernie Sanders)!

It is not an easy goal to accomplish every single day! If you read me, the first part of the process will not be totally new to you ~ it starts with a Smudge (a meditation I do weekly, mentally, to clear the noise from my mind and to clear the desire to, sometimes, teach those who do not want to be taught):

And once my mind is clear (er), I try to take the time to review my favorite pinned Native American affirmations to reaffirm the base from which I choose to work in taking action as a participant in my own Representative Democracy. Here are my top 10 favorites (for today). No talking. Just sharing. Take the Best; Leave the Rest. And then, it is back to work for me where I will work at being good-mannered!:

For more on the Native American influence on the forming of our government read my blog from the vault, "Two sets of Founding Fathers inspired our Nation..." here
